Knitting, Who Knew?

I've sworn that I was going to edit my 40x40 list and remove knitting. I have no time. I am not at all crafty. And, it sounded really boring. But, thanks to a friend and one long dance competition weekend, I had the time and nothing else to do. So, I began.

I decided that I would need supplies, so the night before the big day I went to my local craft store to get yarn and needles. I found an incredibly intimidating aisle of things that I had no idea how to use. I took advice fr

#32 Technically Finished, sort of

I love to read. I can spend an entire day lost in a book. That does not include instruction manuals, however. Especially excluded are technical instruction manuals. That being said, in an attempt at being an independent woman of the world, I am determined to learn how to get the videos and pictures out of the camera all by myself. I should disclose here that I still have not read the technical manual, because it was boring. I tried. I couldn't get past all of the words that sounded technical. I… Continue

Working Hard at learning Spanish

I have totally neglected the rest of my list as I am working on learning to speak Spanish. If I had thought about this harder, I would have made the tasks simplier. But, I suppose that wouldn't be as fulfiling. I still cannot formulate complete sentences (except for the 1), but an learning many new words all of the time. This week my task is to find a Spanish Language children's book. I am hoping to practice reading that. And, I am going to DVR my new favorite show (that I don't understand), "Cu… Continue

More Spanish, less comprehension

Feeling like with 3 lessons in Spanish under my belt, I could understand conversations in Spanish. So, I decided to watch a Spanish Language Soap Opera. I wanted to see if I could understand the basic concepts and story line. Turns out, I can't. Fun to try though.

On another note... #3 is 365 days away from completion. I sent Emily a Birthday gift on time!!!! It has to be 2 years in a row to count for the list, but I am well on the way.

Next: financing my list. I think I need to budget for all… Continue

Uno Palabra

I started working on the list. It turns out that many of my items will take a great deal of time. But, progress is progress. I started the computerized Spanish class and learned 1 new word. (The lesson was longer, but I knew all of the other words from High School Spanish.)

Here's to learning something new.

Goal? What's that? Really I'm just thinking it would be fun to network with other people who are working ar 40x40, 30x30 or whatever other life goal list. I think it's fun to see what people choose to add to their bucket lists and I want to have a way to connect that.

Also, any of that sounds good for Girls Night!
